Are you interested in teaching English abroad and would enjoy living and working in Japan after graduating? Then the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) programme could be for you! JET is an official Japanese Government scheme, which sends graduates to Japan for one year in order to promote international understanding at grass-roots level and to improve foreign language teaching in schools. The JET Programme has placed around 50,000 participants from over 50 countries in positions throughout Japan. A former JET participant will be visiting LJMU to share her experiences of the programme and provide an insight into the application process. The programme is open to graduates from any degree discipline. Although the presentation is primarily aimed at final-year students and graduates looking to apply for the 2019 programme, first-and second-year students as well as postgraduate students are welcome to attend in order to find out more about this opportunity. The speaker will also provide some advice on what steps first- and second-year students can take to improve their chances of securing a place on the programme in the future.
