Are you interested in a career as a solicitor or barrister after completing your degree? Would you like to find out more about what the two career paths involve? The Careers Team and Liverpool Law School have invited several guest speakers to give you first hand account of their profession. This includes practising solicitors and barristers from the Government Legal Service and a number of local law firms and chambers. You will also hear from representatives from local LPC and Bar Professional Training Course providers. This event will provide you with an insight into the training route for both professions, funding options for BPTC and LPC, and useful tips for applications and gaining relevant work experience.

: F-LEX will be available to talk to you about their current paid work opportunties. F-LEX is an online platform to connect pre vetted law students to law firms for a flexible, on demand service to get paid work experience that fits around student's studies and timetables. F-LEX currently has many clients in and around London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol. They are assisting both top law firms and in house counsel. The work may vary in terms of content and length of time depending on what the particular law firm/in house Counsel require but can include: remote research for partners, contract management; document review; trial preparation, and administration as well as some longer-term projects (see https://flex.legal/ for more). : A careers evening has been organised for LJMU Psychology students on the 29th January 2019 from 5-7pm. Employers and psychology alumni will be attending from a range of sectors and professions including health psychology, clinical psychology, talking therapies, an example graduate scheme and private sector organisations such as Unilver. The aim of the event is to give you an insight into the range of different careers open to you after graduation. There will be short presentations, a Q and A panel and networking opportunities with food and drinks. There will also be a number of stands with representatives from the LJMU postgraduate study teams, the Careers Team, SLV Global and HMP Risley mentoring.
